I'm trying to get up on our post's before heading off to bed. I think it's going to be a good night sleep. We left our hotel this morning around 5am from Dehli to fly to Bangalore. I slept a little at the hotel last night, but Jeni was up all night. We were and still are suffering from some jet lag. Anyway, I was determined today that I was not going to be so intimated by India. This time I expected a wild car ride, I expected chaos at the airport, and I expected that people would be approaching us left and right. And of course all of those things happened, but we took them a little better I think. Jeni was having a difficult morning and she was ready to get on the plane and out of Dehli. It made things even worse that we had to separate while passing the screening at the airport, but she did great.
We arrived in Bangalore around 9:45am (India time) this morning. Flight was great and customs a breeze. The agency we are adopting from had arranged a driver to pick us up and take us to our hotel, but when we went outside to meet our driver, he was nowhere to be found. We made a couple of phone calls and he eventually arrived, just a little late. I didn't mind too bad, it was sunny about 80 degrees outside!! It's the beginning of summer here in India.Plus I was starting to get used to the organized chaos that we have experienced so far and the airport at Bangalore wasn't that bad.
Other than the driver being late, everything else about Bangalore and today has been awesome! When we got to our hotel, we felt so much better about things. We weren't really comfortable that first night in Dehli. We immediatly relaxed when we saw our hotel room and met the staff where we are staying here. We crashed for a while and then decided to do some sight seeing this afternoon. The hotel arranged for us a driver and we hit the roads of Banglore for about 3hrs. WOW! What an incredible place. We visited some great historical and beatiful sites, (not to mention a Hindu temple where the priest slapped us with some red paint on our forehead. It didn't stay long.) It was a strange experience seeing people physically bowing down to idols. Particulary a big rock that has been carved out in the image of a bull. I could say some more here, but I won't. But to me it was just the regular day people of Bangalore and the city life thta amazed me and impressed me the most. What an increble culture that has been influenced by the west, very very little at this point. Our driver said that crime in the city was next to obsolete and that drugs were not an issue at all. I asked why and he began talking to me about the family and the role it plays there. I could probably say more here as well but I'll save it for another time. Maybe I'll elaborate a little more about the sites we've seen and maybe post a picture or two.
At this point, believe it or not, but I'm starting to enjoy the driving. It's absolutely crazy, but I never felt in danger today while traveling (well maybe a couple of times :). But it's pretty fun driving around like crazy in somebody else's car. However, there is no way that I would want to drive here.
It's pretty wild to think that Macy is just up the road a couple of miles from us now. We are going to be meeting her for the first time Friday (Thursday night while you sleep). I can't wait.
We are hoping to get some rest tonight (Jeni has been out for over an hour) and do some shopping tomorrow. We want to be good and rested when we meet our daughter for the first time. Please continue to pray for us. Thanks so much! Kelly

Wow! I would love to see the sights in India too. The "temple" experience sounds interesting. Natalie and I went to a Buddhist temple in Canada . . . big wooden statue of Buddha in the middle of a big room (there was a big crack down the middle of it). "Bull" . . . interesting.
Hi Kelly and Jeni! I am so glad you guys are getting settled in Bangalore. Checking for updates has become the highlight of days! I was talking about you two to an attorney friend of mine today who adopted a baby from Korea. Her baby is 8 now! Hearing about her experiences reminded me of how many blessings you have ahead with your new little one! Both of you take care and have fun!! I'm praying for you both.
I can't believe you are there. Your thoughts on India are what I remember the first time being there. Its amazing. You'll be hooked in no time. We'll be hearing about you going back again I'll bet. Praying for you guys.
Can't wait to hear about your meeting with little Macy and taking her home.
Glad things have gone well for you with your travel. Except for not sleeping enough and your driver being late. Praying for sleep.

Congratulations to you both!!!!! Karsynn, Troy and I will be watching daily. I know EXACTLY what you're feeling right now. Enjoy every, single moment!!! Don't blink or you'll miss something. Buy lots to share with Macy as she grows. We did birthday gifts from China for each of Karsynn's first 18 birthdays. Something special to her country will be a nice addition each year. We're praying for you! You'll be home soon.

Kelly & Jeni,
What a wonderful experience and just to think you are there because God has a wonderful plan for your family. Macy is a miracle from God just as Katie and Ethan. God works in great ways to make a family. You're in my thoughts and prayers continually. I love to see new postings and say a prayer as I read. God is great! Praying for God's great blessings to continue.....
Wow! It sounds amazing there, even though some things do sound on on little scary. I've been looking everyday for updates on your trip. I'm glad things are going smoothly for the most part. I'm sure sleep would be really hard to get used to. I can't wait to see pictures of all the sights and especially of you guys with Macy! Your in my thoughts and prayers. Stay safe with those crazy drivers!

Well, we see it's about 9:15-PM at night and hopefully you guys are getting ready for a good nights sleep, as tomorrow is a BIG - GREAT day for you two. Be thinking about you later on tonight, before we go to bed here, knowing you will be seeing Macy. In Christian Love, Ernie & Julia
Love your blog. Thank you so much for the inside personal look at India. The mental picture of the people bowing down to idols brings me to tears. How they need Jesus! Praying for you!
