Hey everyone!
Thank you so much for all of your very sweet comments. I love hearing from you. It makes me cry daily.(In a good way!) I miss you all so very much!
In two hours our car picks us up and we meet Macy for the very first time. It is the wierdest feeling. I thought that it would be just like it was when I was preparing to go in for my c-section with Ethan and Katie-Rae, wondering...what will this child be like. And it kind of is like that, except I am also thinking..."will she like me?" I never experienced that with the other two. I new they would like me (at least until they were teenagers!). But what is great is the scripture that God laid on my heart this morning...HE WHO BEGAN A GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL BE FAITHFUL TO COMPLETE IT.
(I have no idea where it is in the Bible, but I know it is there!)
So, I guess I will back things up to yesterday (Thursday). It was SHOPPING DAY! First of all, I really don't like to shop...seriously. It is ok every once in a while, but I don't like to spend money at all, therefore shopping is not one of my favorite things to do. Anyhoo, we were driven to this shop in a very nice neighborhood, it seemed. A man came and opened my door and in front of me was a big set of stairs which had 4 characters dressed up (kinda like Disney world, but the costumes were old and really corney). They were waving at me and shaking my hand. We walked in and women left and right where asking us stuff..."do you want a drink", "do you want a scarf", do you want jewlery????" Kelly politely said that we would just like to look, so we started looking and noticed that we were being followed. Then it happened, just like in the movie Pretty Women when Julia Roberts goes shopping with Richard Gere to Rodeo Drive. The lady told me to sit down and 3 other women started bringing me clothes..."do you like this?, how about this?" They had to have brought out 30 different outfits. I just sat with my mouth wide open and replied (mummbling like a fool) yes, uh huh, sure, yes. I had NO idea how much anything cost, I didn't want to hurt there feelings. It was so stressful!! Anyway, we ended up with gifts for our immediate family and then some.
So, to say the least I was ready to go home...Kelly wasn't. He was ready to hit Commerce Road (at least that is what it sounded like). It was nuts! It was like court day in Mt. Sterling on steroids. I couldn't wait to get back to the hotel. We ate pizza hut for lunch. Very yummy! And we slept, and slept, and slept.
That was our day in a nutshell. I wish I could describe more what people are like. Families here are amazing even in the midst of poverty. I kept thinking about Macy and how much she will miss it here, but know that love of a family is greater than any home that could be imagined.
I love you all with all my heart, and can't wait to see you again.
