It's a girl!!!!!!!!

Oh, my, she is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful. I know that we have the most beautiful baby girl in India!! She is so funny too. She grins the funniest smile. Her whole face just lights up and she shows her big 4 teeth.

We were so nervous when we arrived today at the childcare center. We went and talked to the director first. She is soooooo wonderful. She asked if we were anxious to go and see her. Of course we said YES! So we followed her down to the childcare rooms. Upon entering we took off our shoes and walked in. The women there were so kind and wonderful. So Godly. They took us to her and she was sitting in a carrier seat. We bent down to talk to her and she covered her eyes with her arm and shook her head no.

I picked her up and she just cried and cried. Then one of the caretakers took her and then we saw the most sweetest grin. She started putting on for them, smiling to make them all laugh. They told us that as soon as anyone would walk in a room she would always grin at them. They all love her so much. They said that she was the only one who would smile all the time, and they said she never cried.

Well, she showed them today. At first she didn't like us very much. All kelly would do is look at her and she would cry. Of course I was holding her, so she couldn't see my face. We sat and sat with her for a long time, then watched her eat. Afterward we went upstairs and they served us a meal. The best meal that we had ate since leaving KY! I fed Macy some of my smashed carrots and she started loving us a little more. She likes to play shy by putting her arm over her eyes, she likes when we kiss her hands, she loves to be tickled, and likes to play peek a boo.

Right now she is sleeping, and has a bad cough, and is pulling at her ears. I am not sure if that is a sleepy thing, or an ear ache. I can't wait for you all to see her. She is so perfect.

I'll write more later, I just want to go up and watch her sleep.

Ethan and Katie-Rae, she is going to LOVE you! She will make you laugh.

Love,
Jeni

haydenpatHi Jeni and Kelly,
I have been reading your BLOG daily and am in ah of how God has works. It sounds like you guys are having a wonderful time. Macy sounds so loveable, and can't wait to see her.
Are you going to make a scapbook? I hope you took a lot of photos on this trip. What great memories you will have for the rest of your life! Wow
I would have loved to go shopping with you guys. I would have broke the bank that day. I am so bad when I am in another place other than the usual shopping. If I think that I will most likely never get back to that place I will buy a little of this and a little of that. Dave Ramsey would not like that!!
I can't wait to read your journal before work tomorrow. Give Macy a big kiss for me. Take care and stay safe.
Love you,
Mary Ann H

WOW!!!! This post was amazing. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Congratulations on your new baby girl. I cannot wait to meet Macy. I hope I get to hold her too! Does she look like she's going to love to sing and dance... and play the hand bells... The way she's performing for the ladies at the childcare center, she sounds like a great Summiteer candidate... especially after Ernie trains her as a God's Little Lamb, right Ernie? Thanks again for sharing this with us through your posts!!! God bless you, Jeni and Kelly, and God bless you Macy.

Oh my, this does bring back some wonderful memories. What you are currently experiencing will last a lifetime. You'll never, ever forget the moment you first saw her, crying or not. Love and treasure every moment you have left in India. Remember, that sweet girl of yours has experienced so very little of her culture, so take her out as much as possible and take pictures on top of pictures of her in her land. She'll truly appreciate it later on in life. She will never remember India, so you create memories for her. We'll be watching daily. Enjoy your baby girl! You are so very blessed!!!!

Congratulations. Sounds like she is warming up to you already. That is wonderful. Its always good to see how the children act before you take them because then you can see what their "normal" disposition is for when they get settled in you can see it come back. We saw this with Anant. It may be less traumatic for Macy because she is much younger than Anant. We'll pray for smooth transitions for all.
VCT sounds wonderful.
God has blessed your family immensely. Enjoy this! God is so good.

We are so happy for all of you! I remember very well the first time we saw Samuel and Dani and no matter what the reception, it is engraved on your heart forever - the first smile or cry - it doesn't matter. We are so happy for all of you and can't wait to meet Macy in person. Definitely don't rush this time but try to enjoy every minute of it. God bless you all and we will see you soon.
